We welcome all ages, women and men:
Let’s get running!

Who We Are

The Hong Kong Ladies Road Runners Club (HKLRRC) was founded in 1979 by Greta Young and a group of keen ladies, with the aim to encouraging more women and girls to run. HKLRRC staged its inaugural race, the Nike Ladies Race, at Black's Link on 20 January 1980. This was the first ever women's only race in Hong Kong.

At that time, men joined as associate members. Since 2000, men are welcomed as full members. The club aim remains: to encourage women to run.

The club organizes three races each year, all of which are unique and popular among Hong Kong runners.

Currently we have members in Hong Kong and overseas, including women, men and young people of all ages and fitness levels.

  • We hold regular social runs, usually on Saturdays. It's a great opportunity to meet other runners, discover new routes, and catch up on what's happening in our running world. Would you like to share your favourite run?

  • Weekly track training sessions (Wednesdays) and a fitness class (Thursdays) cater for all levels.

  • HKLRRC is an associate member of the HKAAA, and you can register with the HKAAA through our club.

  • “LRR this week” is a weekly email blast  sent to all members.

  • Our men race as HKLRRC "Sandfield" and  have their own club kit
