The Hong Kong Ladies Road Runners Club (HKLRRC) was founded in June 1979 by Mrs. Greta Young and a group of keen ladies to promote running amongst ladies in Hong Kong. Currently we have 120 members, including women, men and young people of all ages and fitness levels.
We hold a monthly social run, which is usually held on Saturdays at a member’s home or a local restaurant. It’s a great opportunity to meet other runners of your ability for future training runs and hikes, discover new places to run, and catch up on what’s happening in Hong Kong’s running scene. Consider sharing your favourite run on a coming Saturday: just contact a committee member.
Weekly track training sessions (Wednesdays) and a Fitness Class (Thursdays) are coached by the Club Captain and cater for all levels. Our captain says: “Group synergy works!”
HKLRRC staged its inaugural race, the Nike Ladies Race, at Black’s Link on 20 January 1980. This was the first ever women’s only race in Hong Kong. The club now organizes three annual races, all of which are unique and popular among Hong Kong runners.
The club committee is comprised of a team of enthusiastic volunteers, any of whom can be contacted for information or just a friendly chat about running in Hong Kong. Please feel free to call any of us for more information about the club.
