Malcolm Phillips Memorial Run 2009

A hot an humid June afternoon was the stage for the Malcolm Phillips 5km race. This is held in memory of our dear friend and member Malcolm Phillips who left us in 2006.  The run this year had move to Bowen Road which proved a popular decision , nearly 200 had entered.

The format of the race is an age graded time adjusted result  and this  system certainly made for an exciting result . There was only one second separating the top 3 men after adjustment. The ladies race was won overall and after adjustment by Charlotte Cutler but the other positions were altered on adjustment Cindy Tsui taking second demoting Jane Hodgskin to 3rd. A friendly atmosphere and great support with excellent marshals, helpers and the photographers ensured the event went smoothly.
